Sugar Version 7.9 End of Service Announced

SugarCRM recently announced that on November 15, 2018, Sugar Version 7.9 is going “end of service”.

This means that other than those customers who have purchased Sugar Extended Support, there will be no further support programs, patches and/or security releases for Sugar 7.9 as of that date.

SugarCRM announced that they will be releasing one final patch fix to 7.9 just prior to the end of service date, to ensure that customers will have the latest changes prior to 11/15.

Fear not Sugar users! For those of your still running 7.9, you have the following options:

  • Migrate to Sugar Cloud – See On-Site to Cloud Migration Procedure. Customers running on 7.9 must initiate the request to be migrated to Sugar Cloud prior to the end-of-life date of November 15th 2018.
  • Upgrade to Sugar 8.0 – note: Sugar 9.0 will be released in Spring 19.
  • Purchase extended support which will run until November 15th 2019. This will ensure customers running 7.9 beyond November 15th 2018 will be eligible to receive critical security fixes.

If you are concerned that you fall into this group, please reach out to your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager to discuss these options, or other updates to come in the Sugar Product Roadmap.
